Presenting a re-match of the IsoAcoustics Stands vs The BBQ Bible, and I test the IsoAcoustics Modular Aluminum System to see how it works with our 300 pound a piece mastering speakers. After a previous test of the ISO-L8R155 where the results ranged from awesome to not so awesome, Ronan Chris Murphy gives the stands another go with the new studio set up.

  1. Will wonders never cease? I just order the ISOacoustics yesterday for my studio, and now here you are recommending them. I’m loving the coincidence.

I saw them in a catalog. Read some great reviews, then in a search found a pair at Crutchfield (scratch and dented) for a reasonable discount.

    lots a luv,
    Joey

  2. Hey, I was looking at getting the Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizers…they are another product in the same job category…decoupling…any idea how they compare at all? I like the mass/ratio idea of the PRS product so that the speakers don’t physically “recoil” as much with transients…the ISO ones look pretty light weight… Would this mean transients could possibly smear more? Just wanting to make a solid decision BEFORE I purchase lol…as always, I absolutely love the vids you post…definitely a fan! Blessings!

    • Hey, I was looking at getting the Primacoustic Recoil Stabilizers…

I did not mention them by name in the last video but I did A-B tests against the Primacoustic and chose the IsoAcoustics every time. I am not smart enough to explain why, I just used my ears.

  3. Hey bro! Thanks for the quick reply! Your ears are a good enough explanation for me lol…plus the fact that I don’t know anyone else who I can trust that has A/B’d them other than you…so that means…you win! haha! Thanks for the guidance..MUCH appreciated!

  4. I have no A/B comparison. But… I put the IsoAcoustics stand under the Focal sub in my set-up. All I can say is that I’m a fan. Superbly smooth bass. One could say, “makes the sticker peck out.”

  5. I have to tell you that my experiences with the isoacoustics product are quite different from your own. I found the build quality to be suspect and the product could not support the weight of my focal sm8 in horizontal position creating a one-sided droop on the side of the low frequency driver. for a small enclosure like the Yamahas. that you demonstrate perhaps it’s of no importance. when I called ISO acoustics and ask for support they were less than helpful blaming the enclosure even though its was well within the range of acceptable weight. it was actually the recommended stands for my monitors. therefore I went with the prime acoustic product and did not look back
