Ronan Chris Murphy

Ronan founded recording Boot Camp in 2004 and instructs many of the courses personally (most notably the flagship 6 day Recording Boot Camp). His discography spans hundreds of albums recorded in studios around the world. He is known internationally for his extremely eclectic client base and for working with some of the greatest musicians in the world. In addition to teaching many workshops with recording Boot Camp, Ronan offers consulting for clients ranging from home recordist to major label artist and pro audio companies. Dave Lawrence

DaveEditingOne of Hollywood’s top up and coming music editors, Dave began his career as music editor and assistant engineer working with composers Christopher Lennertz and Timothy Michael Wynn at Sonic Fuel Music. His years of experience and reputation there led to work with many other composers as both music editor and recordist for film, television, commercials and video games. He worked with Dick Bernstein (Music editor for James Horner) as assistant music editor on many projects and as a music editor for renowned composer Cliff Martinez. Dave is on the roster of music editors at Warner Bros. and has a degree in Film and Digital Media from UCSC and a certificate degree in recording engineering from UCLA. Thomas Hornig

ThomasBioThomas has been on both sides of the glass for the past 30+ years; he graduated with Honors from Musicians Institute’s Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT), has performed as a session player on numerous records and toured the world. His main focus these days lies in mixing and producing records within the Los Angeles indie scene, as well being an artist himself. He has mixed as FOH engineer for the likes of Larry Dunn (Earth Wind & Fire), Dorian Holley (Michael Jackson) and many more. In addition to his musical background Thomas also has an advanced background in software architecture and programming, allowing him a greater insight behind the scenes of DAW technologies. Thomas has developed a reputation as a “fix it” man for many other recording engineers around Los Angeles and is often called on to solve complex audio restoration and repair tasks for albums, films scores and video games. John Rodd

John has 25 year’s experience as a recording engineer, film music mixer, and scoring recordist, and a list of credits that is hard to comprehend. In addition to freelance music engineering work in the USA, England and Canada, John spent seven years as orchestral scoring recordist at 20th Century Fox’s legendary Newman Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. Films worked on at Fox include I, Robot, The Last Samurai, Spider-Man 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix (trilogy), Cast Away, X2, Jurassic Park III, The Bourne Identity, Road to Perdition, and The Sixth Sense. John has credits on numerous gold and platinum selling CDs, and held a staff position at Ocean Way Studios where he worked with The Rolling Stones, Porno for Pyros, Eric Clapton, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Ry Cooder, Boys 2 Men, and Madonna.  These days John is best known for his work recording, mixing, and mastering music for film, TV, and video games (including on-going work for the World of Warcraft series). In 2007, John was nominated for “Best Score Mixer” by the Film and TV Music Awards, and some of his recent credits include: The Lincoln Lawyer, A l’origine, Avatar: The Game, Mass Effect 3, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and Star Wars Kinect.

Liz Redwing

liz-icelandLiz has spent 3 decades working in the business side of the music industry. She worked in publishing with Interescope Music, business administration at MCA records, and as an A&R scout for Atlantic Records. She has also worked for several entertainment legal and management firms including Tsunami Entertainment and Michael Dixon Management.  She is the administrative director of the Association of Independent Music Publishers, and the the business manager of Recording Boot Camp and Veneto West Studios. She is available for consulting on a wide range of music business related topics. Notable credits include working with No Doubt, Ron Sexsmith, Steve Stevens and Tina Turner.

Diego Lopez

diego-smallDiego Lopez is a staff engineer at Veneto West (the production, Mixing and Mastering side of the the Recording Boot Camp studio). He studied engineering and production at Academia de Musica Fermatta Campus D.F. (Mexico City). In addition to his work on commercial project for Veneto West he assists with logistics and training for many of the Recording Boot Camp programs. His primary areas of expertise are audio restoration and Pro Tools editing.
