Many of our consulting clients need only short sessions to solve specific problems, and it is not realistic for them to book longer term consulting with Ronan. This new service allows people from around the world to book consulting time in increments as small as 15 minutes. Consulting is available for almost any recording related topics. Some examples:
How the heck do I record this instrument?
When recording an instrument for the first time, you can discuss your options with Ronan, based on the style of music and the equipment resources you have available. Walk through options for microphone choice, placement and recommended processing.
Mix Feedback & Production Consulting
Receive feedback, as well as creative and technical suggestions on your mix. Ronan can point out potential problems as well as bring his experience from mixing thousands of songs to your tracks. You can also send demos and productions in progress for expert advice on all facets of the production. Please note that we do not consider download time as part of the session, but time spent listening and evaluating the mix is considered part of your consulting session.
Studio Build & Gear purchasing / upgrading advice.
Discuss your purchasing decisions with a full time pro with decades of experience with a wide range of studio settings and music genres. Unlike sales people, Ronan has no vested interests and does not profit in
any way from specific gear advice. Many consulting clients have actually found they saved money by using Ronan’s services.
The Studio & Recording Biz
In the last 25 years, Ronan has worked on many sides of the recording business, and seen the changes in the industry as a full time pro for 20 years. He can offer advice and perspective about many aspects of the industry without vested interest or sugar coating.

How it works
Decide how much time you would like to book and select the appropriate option to pay via paypal. Include in your paypal note the topic you would like to discuss. As soon as we receive notice of your payment our office will contact you to arrange a time for the call and details about how it will be done (phone-skype, etc). We will schedule your call at the earliest time when there is availability by both parties. Ronan’s production-mixing schedule is pretty crazy, but we will attempt to arrange the call within 24 hours and even that day, if it is possible.

If your topic is one that Ronan does not feel he is fully qualified to address, we will refund 100% of your payment. If your request is time sensitive and we can not schedule your call within a timely manner (less than 24 hours) we will refund 100% of your payment. If you have booked a longer increment of time, for example one hour and Ronan can get you the help you need in less time than that, we will credit the extra time for future consulting (in 15 minute increments.)
