September 15th will be the first “Shoot Out Salon” hosted by Ronan & Recording Boot Camp in LA. Our first event will be:

“The Monsters of Sheen”

We will be comparing several processors legendary for adding beautiful sheen and air to tracks:

• A Designs Hammer (modern hi-fi solid state-tube hybrid)
• UBK Clariphonic (Dual Channel Parallel Equalizer)
  
• Maag Audio EQ4 (500 version of the original “air band” EQ)
• One other wildcard TBA
  

No Sales guys, no product reps, no designers, just a bunch of recording geeks hanging out, getting hands on, running cool gear through its paces in a well tuned listening environment with ultra high end monitoring. This will be a chance to evaluate some of the best gear in the world for adding air and sheen to mixes and individual tracks. Check these boxes on a range of tracks or bring your own. Listen through the ultra revealing FAR BB-3215 monitors.

As a bonus I will also have a Pearlman 250 here to test. Feel free to bring your favorite mic to A-B.

These events are limited to only 12 participants. The events are fun and social but this is a critical listening event. Much more of a learning, testing experience than a party. Studio is located in mid-city LA near Pico and Fairfax (exact address sent after registration).

Tickets are $2.99 and must be purchased in advance (and the cost includes pizza). Please note that we will be shooting video of the event that may be used on Ronan’s Recording Show. Buying at ticket implies your consent to be video taped and your likeness be used on the show.
